Meet Dr. Nguyen
Dr. Diana Nguyen brings with her a wealth of knowledge and real world experience. Dr. Nguyen take part in providing eye care services to underserved communities worldwide. Her Optometric work has aided those in countries of Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, and the States. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University and Bachelor of Sciences degrees at University of South Florida Honors College. Dr. Nguyen received residency training which specializes in primary eye care and low vision rehabilitation at the Lake City Veteran Affairs Medical Center. She worked at the Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center VICTORS clinic (Visual Impairment Center to Optimize Remaining Sight). It is an interdisciplinary outpatient program utilizing a team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, social workers, and occupational therapists in vision rehabilitation for the visually impaired. She also completed the Geriatrics Trainee Program offered by the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC).
Dr. Nguyen is passionate about the arts and music. As a violinist, she was a member of the University of South Florida Honors College Philharmonic Orchestra.
At Eyekea Vision, Dr. Nguyen provides optometric services in primary eye care for all ages, ocular disease management (including co-managing cataract and LASIK surgery), diabetic eye exam, dry eyes treatment, myopia control, contact lens evaluation, and same day urgent eye care office visit.

Meet Dr. Common
Dr. Kenneth D. Common was raised in Westwood, N.J. where he attended public schools from kindergarten through high school. He then attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. where he received his B.A. in history, with a minor in biology.
After working for a year after college, he enrolled in New England College of Optometry (which was then called Massachusetts College of Optometry) in Boston. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree and being on a Navy scholarship, was ordered to Whidbey Naval Air Station for duty in Oak Harbor, WA. He was Chief of Optometry service his last year, and after five years active duty, went into private practice. He also spent many years in the Air Force Reserve.
In the years since, he has worked in every imaginable practice setting, including private practice, hospital settings, commercial practices, teaching positions, etc. He currently performs services at Western State Hospital, and the three youth correctional facilities in Western Washington.
In addition he was the team optometrist for the Seattle Mariners from 1983-1987. He is an avid sports fan, and enjoys attending Mariners & Seahawk games. He is a history buff, and a movie fan. He has a collection of over 1400 DVD’s. He and his wife, Roxie, have four children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Diabetic Eye Exam
